FICCI FLO to Host World Environment Day Panel on Building a Sustainable Future for India

New Delhi: Marking World Environment Day, the FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) will organize a special panel discussion titled “Planet, Policy and Progress: Building India’s Sustainable Future” on June 5, 2026, at the FICCI Federation House in New Delhi.

The event will bring together leading policymakers, entrepreneurs, innovators, environmental experts, and changemakers to discuss critical issues such as sustainability, climate action, circular economy practices, and responsible development. The initiative is being organized under the FLO GreenTech and Circular Economy National Initiative, which aims to promote dialogue, encourage innovation, and raise awareness about sustainable growth and climate-conscious business practices.

The distinguished panel will feature Dr. Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Founder and CEO of Kinetic Green Energy and Power Solutions Ltd.; Ankit Agarwal, Founder of Phool.co; and Barkha Subba, conservation scientist and recipient of the prestigious Whitley Award 2026. The discussion will be moderated by renowned journalist, author, and conservation biologist Bahar Dutt.

Speaking about the event, FICCI FLO National President Pooja Garg said the discussion will explore a wide range of themes, including green innovation, biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, circular economy models, sustainable mobility, and responsible entrepreneurship.

She emphasized that achieving a climate-resilient and sustainable India will require stronger collaboration among businesses, policymakers, communities, and citizens. According to her, sustainability is no longer a future aspiration but an immediate responsibility, while India’s transition toward green technology and circular economic models presents not only an environmental necessity but also a significant economic opportunity.

“At FLO, we believe the future of development must be driven by purpose, responsibility, inclusion, and innovation,” Garg said.

A key highlight of the event will be the formal launch of FICCI FLO’s Pan-India Initiative on Waste Collection and Responsible Disposal. The nationwide campaign aims to encourage responsible waste management practices and greater community participation in creating a cleaner and greener India.

The initiative is being led by Vibha Jain, Initiative Lead for FLO GreenTech and Circular Economy, along with Namrata Mishra, Co-Lead of the programme.

The World Environment Day event is expected to serve as an important platform for exchanging ideas, showcasing sustainable solutions, and encouraging collective action toward a greener and more environmentally resilient future for India.
